I woke up with him as the little spoon, my arm slung over his waist, my nose pressed to the back of his neck.

I smiled.

“Morning,” he murmured.

“Morning.”

“Been waiting for you to wake up.”

I tightened my hold on him. “You should have woken me.”

He chuckled. “What? Just so I can tell you I’m starving and you need to cook me breakfast?”

I laughed, nudging my nose along his nape. “Yes.”

“I think it’s a full English breakfast kind of morning.”

I gave him a squeeze. “Hm, me too.”

He laughed and swatted my arm. “I’m not on the menu.” Then he hummed. “Well, maybe after breakfast.”

I kissed his bare shoulder. “What exactly is a full English breakfast?”

“Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fried tomato, and baked beans.”

I stilled. “Baked beans? For breakfast?”

He chuckled. “Yes. The British kind of baked beans, not the American kind.”

I didn’t even know there were various kinds. “Well, I can cook you everything else, but I don’t have baked beans. Not sure I even want to know what your British breakfast ones are, to be honest.”

He chuckled. “I’ll make you try it one day.”

Mm. One day . . .

He made it sound like one day in the future was something we had.

I peeled myself away from him. “Right then, breakfast time it is.” I pulled back the covers from him. “And you’re helping me.”
